Gebhardt Wins Karl Acker Memorial SL

Ski Runners’ own Kelly Gebhardt skied through the falling snow to first place in women’s U16 division, and second overall, at the Karl Acker Memorial SL, held today at Pico Mountain. Gebhardt finished with a two-run time of 2:00.27, 1.36 seconds ahead of second place Sarah Bassett of Okemo Mountain School and 2.28 seconds ahead of third place finisher Sarah Creamer from the Bromley Outing Club. U19 competitor Isabelle Nolan of Waterville Valley took home the overall win. Gebhardt, of Pomfret, VT, is a sophomore at Woodstock Union High School and also competes for the WUHS Ski Team.

Gebhardt’s Ski Runners teammate Libby Waterfall also enjoyed a strong day at Pico, finishing in a season-best 23rd place. Waterfall has had a busy week. On Thursday, February 14, she helped her Milton Academy (MA) team to a 3rd place finish in the the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) “A” Division Championships at Sunapee Mountain Resort (NH).

In the men’s race, Nolan St. John continued a very solid month of February, finishing in sixth place in the U19 division and 14th overall.
