About Team Norway (Grades 3-6)
This group practices 2 times a week on snow and is for skiers who wish to learn both classic and skate technique in a fun non-competitive environment. Coaches work with all abilities in this age group to emphasize skill and technique through games and skill development activities. Skiers will be broken up into ability groups in order to practice skills and then join back together as a larger group to play games.
Skiers should have both classic and skate equipment because combination skis cause technique problems as a skier progresses. If you are having trouble getting both sets, please let the program head coach know so we can work with you to get the correct equipment. At this level, we encourage all skiers to choose 1-2 local races or events around New England to participate in. Team Norway also meets for dryland practice during the fall to help increase fitness and create a positive team atmosphere.
Coaching staff: Nick Mahood, Tessa Westbrook, Cindy Emery & Mimia Roberts.

All skiers must purchase a Woodstock Nordic Center discounted team season pass for $75 paid for when the center opens for the season. This pass allows skiers access to the facility and trails all season long. Trails need proper grooming and maintenance for safe skiing and this is what this pass covers. We encourage skiers to ski as much as possible outside of practice to develop basic ski skills.
