Dear Ski Runner Families,
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Jim Kelly's passing this past Sunday. Jim is a legend in the Ski Runners community: a longtime member, dedicated race volunteer, and former Vice President of the club.
Jim's family will be hosting a memorial visitation at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT Friday, September 13, from 5-7 pm. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 14, at St. James Episcopal Church, Woodstock, VT followed by a reception at Suicide Six.
More information is included at the link below. Jim was a great man, husband, father, and friend. We will greatly miss his warm smile and unwavering enthusiasm for skiing, Suicide 6, and the Ski Runners Family.

This year’s Slush Cup Slalom certainly lived up to its name. Fifty-degree temperatures the previous day softened the racing surface on the Face of Suicide 6 to a fine spring slush. Still, over 70 competitors from six different clubs turned out for some slalom fun in the sun.
A fun introduction to ski competition, the event draws more than 175 skiers from seven different ski clubs: Quechee, Pico, Middlebury, Ford Sayre, Whaleback, and Ski Runners.
Led by Sophomore Kelly Gebhardt’s pair of 2nd place finishes, the Woodstock Union High School Women’s Alpine Ski Team claimed the 2019 Vermont State Championship on Tuesday at Burke Mountain Resort.
At Ski Runners’ Annual Winter Celebration, we recognized a trio of former board leaders for their dedicated, selfless service to the children of our community: Jim Kelly, Dan Noble, and Steve Hambsch.
The Ski Runners U14s had their last regular season race this past Sunday, a giant slalom on Killington’s “HIghline” race trail. Results of this race would help set the field for the Vermont Alpine Racing Association’s (VARA) U14 State Championships to be held March 8-10 at Stratton Mountain, Vermont.
Ski Runners U12 racer Levi Halley enjoyed a breakthrough day on Saturday, finishing a strong fifth in the MVC GS at Killington.
We are pleased to offer jackets, fleeces, and pants to outfit our team next season. We have an ambitious goal to get our order in by February 27, as that is the Helly Hansen deadline for first round orders.
Ski Runners’ annual fundraising event, the Winter Celebration, is set for this Saturday night, February 23, from 7-11 PM at Woodstock Country Club.
