About our Nordic Programs
Woodstock Ski Runners offers Nordic ski programs for children ages 6-14. Skiers learn basic nordic ski skills including both skating and classic style technique. Coaches work with all levels of skiers to assist them in skill and fitness development. Skiers are encouraged to participate in competitive events held on weekends around the region in order to further develop their skills. The goal of our program is to give children a solid introduction and appreciation for the sport of Nordic skiing.

We encourage skiers to ski as much as possible outside of practice to develop basic ski skills.

NENSA works to keep youth skiing thriving in New England and organizes many regional events including the NE Bill Koch Festival. We will send the membership fees in for you. WSR Fundraising DOES help our Nordic Program
We encourage all families to participate in any all Woodstock Ski Runners fundraising events. The club relies on fundraising to meet operating costs, so it is important to attend all WSR fundraising events to ensure our program sustains and thrives. There will be no Wreath Sale or Club Fee this year.
We encourage families to participate in the local youth races. The events are low-key and children find it enjoyable to be around other skiers from around New England. At the end of the season many New England skiers get together in a 2-day ski festival. This year it is located in Ripton, Vermont. Please “save the date” and try to make this a priority in your child’s ski season! There are races, activities and overall a time when children on skis are celebrated. The NENSA website has posted all details including suggested lodging and discounted rates.
